A prenatal screen from week 10.

NALEYA NIPT screens fetal cell-free DNA from a maternal blood sample from week 10 through week 24 of pregnancy. It is a screening test, not a diagnosis.

A clear window for screening

NALEYA NIPT screening is available from week 10 through week 24 of pregnancy.

Sample

A small blood draw

An 8–10 mL maternal blood sample is collected for screening.

Analysis

Sequencing read-out

Next-generation sequencing (NGS) analyzes cell-free DNA in the sample.

Results

3–14 working days

Review your results with your clinician.

What does NALEYA NIPT screen for?

Screening may cover all 23 chromosome pairs and selected microdeletion or microduplication syndromes. Package scope may vary; confirm which findings are included before testing.

Chromosome aneuploidies

Trisomies 21, 18, 13, 9, 16 and 22, and sex-chromosome aneuploidies.

Microdeletion and microduplication syndromes

Available syndromes depend on the selected package; confirm what is included before testing.

Optional information

Optional fetal-sex identification.

A blood-based, non-invasive screen

NIPT analyzes fetal cell-free DNA in a maternal blood sample collected through a small blood draw. It does not diagnose a condition; discuss results and any next steps with your clinician.

Screening, not diagnosis

NIPT estimates the chance of selected conditions. A screening result cannot confirm or rule out a diagnosis.

Discuss results

Your clinician can interpret results in context and discuss whether further assessment is appropriate.

Performance figures

Reported sensitivity and specificity are above 99%. These figures do not guarantee an individual result.

Performance varies by condition and screening is not diagnostic. Ask your clinician about what results may mean for you.

Who may consider NIPT?

These are examples of situations to discuss with a clinician. NIPT is a screening option and is not a substitute for individualized medical advice.

  • Maternal age over 35
  • Twin pregnancy
  • IVF pregnancy
  • Previous miscarriage or affected pregnancy
  • Relevant ultrasound findings
  • When invasive testing is contraindicated
  • Follow-up after prior screening
